Who Is Mark Bertrang?
As an author Mark Bertrang is certainly no stranger to storytelling. A talented communicator, Mark began a career in broadcasting in the early 1980s. After several years as a professional radio announcer, he made the transition into the financial services industry, where his talent for simplifying complicated concepts helps clients understand the various ways to move toward their financial objectives.
Numbers are important to financial advisors, but life often gets lost in those numbers. Mark works at making personal connections with his clients, which is why he has been drawn to life insurance as a central component of the financial planning most people do. He has been telling emotional stories about life insurance to his clients for decades as a way to offer real-life examples of how this asset actually works. His book, Investments Don't Hug: Embracing the Life Insurance Asset, contains over a dozen of these real-life stories about families who took the important stop to ensure their love would continue on, long after their deaths. It is a tribute to the many close relationships Mark has made with his clients and thier families over the course of his career.
Experienced in life’s challenges and passionate about customer service and marketing, Mark enjoys offering ideas he believes can impact people’s lives, while also providing insight to other financial advisors and insurance professionals.. When he’s not leading the charge at his firm, Bertrang Financial Corp., in Onalaska, Wisconsin, or via web-based meetings with clients around the country, Mark travels to financial conferences and industry gatherings to share his insights. He is also the creator of a trademarked process called the Financialoscopy.
Mark and his wife Betty have been married for 36 years, and have lived in the same home in Onalaska since 1991. They have two grown children. In his free time, Mark enjoys writing, creating video podcasts, and escaping to northern Wisconsin to spend time relaxing along the Flambeau River.
Mark Bertrang jokingly refers to himself as an “unlicensed psychologist” because of the many life circumstances that he has helped his clients navigate over the course of his 30-plus years career as a financial advisor. He enjoys sharing real-life stories to entertain, inspire, and motivate his audiences to reevaluate the direction their lives are taking, both personally and financially. He has addressed many groups ranging from nonprofits and civic organizations to corporations and industry groups.
